About Rhythm

Rhythm is a Houston-based electricity provider that launched in 2021 with a focus on 100% renewable energy and a fully digital experience. Founded by former executives from larger Texas REPs, they set out to fix what they saw as broken in the traditional electricity market: confusing pricing, poor customer service, and environmental indifference.

All Rhythm plans are 100% renewable, backed by Texas wind and solar. They're a B Corp certified company, which means they meet verified standards for social and environmental performance. Their approach is digital-first—you can sign up, manage your account, and get support without ever making a phone call if you prefer.

Company History

Rhythm was founded in 2021 by former executives from established Texas electricity providers who wanted to build something better. They entered the market partly through acquiring customers from Entrust Energy after the February 2021 winter storm. Since then, they've grown to serve over 75,000 customers and maintained strong review ratings. The company is independently owned (no corporate parent) and headquartered in Houston.

Rhythm FAQs

What does it mean that Rhythm is B Corp certified?

B Corp certification is a third-party verification that a company meets high standards for social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. It's similar to LEED certification for buildings or Fair Trade for products. Rhythm is one of the few Texas electricity providers with this certification.

Is Rhythm actually 100% renewable or just buying credits?

Rhythm purchases renewable energy certificates (RECs) matched to your usage, sourced from Texas wind and solar farms. This is how most "100% renewable" plans work in Texas. The actual electrons on the grid are mixed, but your payment supports renewable generation equal to your consumption.

Why does Rhythm have PUCT complaints if reviews are good?

Rhythm has a higher-than-average PUCT complaint ratio, which seems at odds with their strong Google reviews. Some of this may be due to their rapid growth and the customer acquisition after the 2021 storm. If you're concerned, read recent reviews and check if complaint patterns have improved.

Can I call Rhythm or is everything online only?

You can call Rhythm at 1-888-408-2836 during business hours. They're not phone-averse, but they've designed their systems so most issues can be resolved through the app or website without waiting on hold. Many customers appreciate this, but phone support is available if you need it.

Editorial opinions (pros/cons, recommendations) are based on industry analysis and customer feedback patterns. Always verify current rates and terms on the Electricity Facts Label (EFL) before signing up.
